PRESS RELEASE
Alerce Group, a benchmark in management software for transport and logistics, announces the incorporation into its ranks of Gadir Grupo Consultor and its solution PROXIUM, specialised in WMS, customs management and bonded warehouses, TMS, ship chandlers and container depots, to compete at the highest level in this Freight Forwarding niche with national players and large multinationals in Spain.
This strategic operation reinforces Alerce Group's offering in the Iberian market, consolidating its position as a specialised provider of IT solutions for logistics.
Gadir, founded in 1999 by Miguel Ángel Esparcia and his partners, has managed to position PROXIUM as a leading application in Spain for logistics companies operating with excise duties and customs warehouses.
Its sustained growth, with double-digit sales increases in recent years, is the result of a best-in-class product aimed at a market whose continuous evolution is driven by constant changes in regulatory requirements.
Miguel Ángel Esparcia joins the group's shareholder base and the Gadir management team will continue to lead the company, ensuring the evolution of PROXIUM within the Alerce ecosystem which will undoubtedly give it a new impetus.
Following the incorporation of Oakley Capital into Alerce Group in 2023, and the entry in 2024 of Wemob (a company specialised in fleet management software), the Group now consolidates with the incorporation of Gadir its commitment to creating the largest Spanish group of IT solutions for logistics, accelerating the company's growth and continuing to facilitate its international expansion through organic growth and complementary acquisitions.
Valero Domingo, Partner at Oakley Capital in Spain, said: "We are pleased to support this important addition to the Alerce Group. Gadir is an attractive company in a large and counter-cyclical market, which benefits from favourable factors related to regulatory requirements in customs and excise duties, and will allow us to extend the reach of Alerce Group into a valuable and potential adjacent market that will undoubtedly present significant cross-selling opportunities".
Pablo Pardo García, CEO of Alerce, stated: "For Alerce Group this has been a strategic decision. PROXIUM's outstanding capabilities will be key to expanding our product offering and delivering greater value to our customers, while providing us as a group with a dominant presence in the Spanish transport and logistics software market. Our ambition in the Freight Forwarding market is to compete at the highest level with national players and large multinationals in Spain, and PROXIUM will undoubtedly be an excellent ally in facing this challenge. We are eager to work with Miguel Ángel and his team, and to fulfil our ambitious growth plans".
Miguel Ángel Esparcia, CEO of Gadir, added: "Belonging to Alerce Group will generate great synergies that will drive PROXIUM to grow at an even faster pace, while maintaining the current high level of after-sales service and ensuring that our customers work with an application that is always at the forefront of technology. It has been a very considered decision. We were looking to join forces with a great Group that would help us exploit the enormous potential that PROXIUM has, providing us with a solid structure that would allow us to compete with anyone today, and in the future. We are very satisfied with this step and tremendously excited about the future we will build together".
